CLEARWATER CAR RENTALS THE NEED FOR A VEHICLE!
CLEARWATER HISTORY AND ACTIVITIES!
Clearwater has a most interesting history. It was
founded by people from outside of Florida with the promise to one
hundred and sixty acres of land if they were to bear arms and cultivate
the land during the civil war period. This was offered by the
governor of the state while in Fort Harrison. After this the
population grew to about four hundred people. By that same winter,
the population had grown to nearly one thousand people. Union
ships used to come in from the multiple beaches from the army all the
time. A few that have sunk can even be explored by those who are
willing to snorkel or scuba dive. They are now the habitat of
thousands of tropical marine animals that are docile and fun to see!
Gradually the city grew to what it is today promising adventure and fun
around every corner. There is so much history to Clearwater and so
much to see. Fort Harrison
